Founded in 1988 by Adrian Zecha with Amanpuri in Phuket — forty Thai pavilions in a coconut palm plantation above Pansea Beach — the brand has grown to around 35 properties, each in a location of genuine natural or cultural power, each with a room count small enough that every guest receives something close to personal attention. Amangiri is carved into the Colorado Plateau above the canyons of southern Utah. Amanjiwo overlooks the Borobudur temple complex in Java from a distance that makes its scale comprehensible at dawn. Amanzoe sits above the Peloponnese coast like a Hellenistic acropolis reimagined. The experience at each is different; the quality of stillness and the depth of care are constant.

How far in advance should I book an Aman property?
For peak season at popular Aman properties — Amangiri in autumn, Amanpuri over Christmas, properties in Japan during cherry blossom — we recommend booking 6–12 months in advance. Aman fills quickly and the room count at each property is tiny. Contact us as early as possible.
